THERE were all smiles yesterday at Good Time Steel Company Zambia Limited (GTS) in Lusaka when the company gifted all its employees with Christmas hampers of assorted household goods to appreciate them for the hard work this year.

GTS Chief Executive Officer, Jacky Huang said the intension was to motivate and appreciate the workers for their performance during the year.
The company gave away 25kg mealie-meal, pouch of Irish potatoes, 5litres cooking oil, 5kg baking flour, 2kg sugar 5kg salt, a chicken among other goods.
And Brian Kapembwa, the group Human Resource manager, said the intention to give out gifts was to motivate their workers to work hard and increase productivity for the company to do the same next year.
“We are happy to give away these goods to our workers, giving them these things will only encourage them to work hard and the company will benefit more in terms of productivity,” Mr Kapembwa said.
Meanwhile, the councillor for Garden Park ward were the company is domiciled said he is proud to be the leader of a ward that has a company that is able to give back to the community.
Mr Samboko said the company should continue looking out for the employees and observing the country’s labour laws.
He said he was happy to see the expansion works and new investments being done at the institution which gives him hope that more people in will employed next year.
Mr Samboko said employees are great partners to the development of any business and if they are not motivated, a business can never succeed.
