A SENIOR PF member, Jean Katapa, has castigated the UPND to stop hiding their failures by diverting attention to perceived PF wrong doing, forgetting that they are in charge of government and that the buck stops with its leadership.
Ms. Kapata challenged the UPND to come out in the open and apologise to Zambians for going back on their word to reduce the price of fuel, mealie meal, and fertiliser among other promises made to the people.
Ms. Kapata, who is former Lands minister said in an interview the fact that the UPND has failed to fix the price of fuel as promised has nothing to do with the alleged mistakes the PF committed which they keep highlighting.
She urged the UPND to focus on executing their plan to fix the economy which they claimed the PF had failed to do, instead of hiding their failures by constantly reminding Zambians about the alleged flaws that the former ruling party had.
“UPND should stop talking about PF, they should talk about what they told people they would do. PF is no longer in power, UPND are in power. This system of UPND just talking about PF day in day out, is derailing their plans,” she said.
Ms. Kapata said it makes no sense that the UPND is talking about the failures of PF four months since they were voted into power instead of fixing what the former ruling party did wrong to the economy.
She reminded the ruling party that Zambians voted for them not to talk about PF but to fix things as they claimed they would.
“It’s not the PF that told them to start announcing such promises, it was not us, it was them. So let them fix what they promised. Let them do exactly what they promised the people,” Ms Kapata said.
