A 24-YEAR-OLD man in Shiwang’andu has allegedly killed himself while in police custody under unclear circumstances. Muchinga Province Commissioner of Police Lizzy Machina identified the man as Steven Mulenga. The incident happened on Friday, between 00:00 hours and 05:00 hours. Ms. Machina said Police have opened an Inquiry File in the matter, adding that investigations have since been launched. She said, Mulenga’s body has since been deposited to Chinsali General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination to ascertain the actual cause of death. Sources said Mulenga was arrested by police on Thursday for allegedly stealing money from his friends.
