THE Commonwealth must give the Zambian people a detailed report of their findings on Zambia’s political situation, during their last visit in the country, National Revolution Party (NRP) president Cosmo Mumba has said.
And Mr Mumba has described UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema as a “stubborn and selfish person,”’ for shunning Independence Day celebrations.
He said Mr Hichilema’s continued boycott of national events only proved that he only cared about himself and does not recognise President Edgar Lungu as Head of State.
“HH not attending Independence Day celebrations was a clear indication that he is stubborn, and he does not recognise President Lungu.
“He did attend prayers last week during the day of national prayer and on Independence Day he was not there, so what kind of a person is he? Mr Mumba asked.
Meanwhile, the NRP leader has demanded for a full report from the Commonwealth on their findings, regarding Zambia’s political situation during the time they were in the country.
Mr Mumba indicated that the Commonwealth conducted some meetings with some opposition political party, but no report had been issued so far. He also wondered why the Commonwealth had not sat Mr Hichilema down and convince him to concede defeat after pleading for his release from prison.
