ZAMBIA has an attractive business environment owing to its stable economy as compared to other countries in Africa, says Air Liquid Welding country business developer, Eduardo Poblete.
Air Liquid Welding is a company based in France and is currently seeking local partnership to distribute its equipment that offer latest technology used in the mining industry and other sectors of the economy.
The company was among the foreign exhibitors at the just ended 7th Zambia International Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition (ZIMEC) in Lusaka held under the theme “Mining and Energy Development in Zambia.”
Mr Poblete, who was in Zambia for the first time, said in an interview that a survey conducted by his company indicated that Zambia had a stable business environment.
“The business environment is attractive, to be honest with you, we have been in many countries all over the world and in some places, there are good opportunities but the political or economic situation is not very stable.
“In Zambia, we think that all those things are not a problem. We think the infrastructure in the country is calm and doing business is very good. We are impressed with what we have seen. I am sure there are a lot of opportunities for us and for the partnership we are looking for,” he said.
He also said his company specialised in welding products and that the entity was already in talks with a local business for a possible partnership.
Mr Poblete said the company was currently focusing on creating a partnership for the distribution of welding products in the mining industry before expanding to other sectors of the economy.
“We are here in Zambia for the first time, we came to understand the business environment, the conditions, the political and economic situation,
“We are impressed with what we have seen so far. We are already in talks with the company in Zambia to do a partnership so they will be our distributor for our welding products in the mining industry which we will first focus on,” he said.
