THE PATRIOTIC Front (PF) on the Copperbelt should intensify its party mobilization to bring back members who left the party during the 2015 party convention,’ PF Member of the Central Committee (MCC) Mwenya Musenge has said.
Mr Musenge said most of the PF members who left the ruling party after that convention had been abandoned by their leaders and so it was important that they were brought back to PF.
The Former Chimwemwe law maker said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that party officials in the province needed to work extra hard to mobilise and strengthen the party.
“We need to mobilize the party, we need to work extra hard to strengthen the party. All structures of the party need to be firing on all cylinders. So we need to get back those members who left the party in 2015 during the convention.
“Those members have been abandoned by their leaders and they are eager to come back to the fold and contribute. These members of PF who went and joined other political parties, ended up voting for wrong people who are now claiming to have won the 2016 elections and causing confusion that they are republican Presidents,” Mr Musenge said.
Mr Musenge commended Kitwe District Chairman and Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe for the forth-coming rally on Saturday where more than 3,000 members of various political parties were expected to join the ruling party.
On the police decision not to allow the UPND from holding a rally in Lusaka, Mr Musenge said the police should allow the opposition party to hold the rally so that the people could listen to them.
He said, if was through listening to them that the PF and the people of Zambian could know what it has for the people.
