MASOKA Manda, the Independent Buchi Ward Councillor and aspiring Member of Parliament for Nkana constituency has said one of his priority areas once elected is to use his position to exploit various talents in youths like sports, arts, music and film industry, while lobbying for the construction of new recreational facilities.
Mr Manda, who has been instrumental in sponsoring football tournaments and other sports disciplines in the ward and constituency as a whole said there was abundant untapped talent in sports, arts, music and film industry which needed to be fully exploited to benefit most of the unemployed youths and keep them away from illicit activities.
In an interview in Kitwe, Mr Manda said while skills training and other forms of empowerment under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) were helping to exploit the talents and skills in youths, it was important that once elected as Nkana MP, he would come up with programmes to supplement CDF in terms of exploiting the talents in youths.
Apart from exploiting abundant untapped talent, Mr Manda also said he will lobby for the construction of new recreational facilities and refurbish the existing ones to set the stage for the development of various sports disciplines, arts and film industry.
He also said apart from exploiting talent in youths, he will also come up with programmes for women which will help them to become self-sustaining and contribute towards the welfare of their families.
