THE state yesterday swiftly moved and released Mumbi Phiri from Kawambwa police cells after she recorded a voice note of herself fearing for her life after the letter from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri exonerating her from the aggravated robbery charge and refusal to prosecute mysteriously went missing.
Ms Phiri, who had been in incarceration for two weeks was supposed to be released from police custody on Tuesday but was instead kept in cells while the State was preparing for prosecution even after the DPP had advised against after the letter from the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) vanished in Mansa.
