KOVENANT Procure Zambia Limited has flagged off the distribution of fertiliser to North-Western Province under the Farmer Input support Programme (FISP).

Speaking during the flagging off ceremony in Lusaka yesterday, Kovenant Procure Zambia Limited Director logistics and operation, Brian Mutelo said the company has been contracted by Government to supply 101, 195. 95 metric tons of Urea Fertiliser to 11 districts of North-Western Province.
Mr. Mutelo said Government gave them up to October 31, 2023 during which time to complete the distribution of the fertiliser but they intend to finish within two to three weeks.
The company flagged off 50 trucks, but Mr. Mutelo said they had 200 more trucks on standby ready start and complete the distribution ahead of the deadline.
“Yes we understand that it is a big and mammoth task but I think we are ready and that is what we signed up for,” he said.
He thanked President Hakainde Hichilema and the government for having faith in them to supply fertilisers during the 2023/2024 farming season. Mr. Mutelo said it was important that government was distributing farming inputs on time.
and they would ensure that they deliver on time to avoid the inconsistences that characterised the previous farming season.
He said since the distribution of compound D concluded it was important that distribution of Urea was done on time before the onset of the rains.
