This comes after Zambia secured a safety certification.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Makozo Chikote says the approval is significant because it assures safety of the honey produced locally.
The minister says the approval will also bring about market competitiveness for Zambian honey and other bee-hive products.
Mr. Chikote says Zambia has the capacity to produce about 20, 000 metric tonnes of honey per year for export. He says measures are being put in place to enhance production.
Mr. Chikote says the country will do whatever it possibly can to produce at high scale because it cannot afford to miss the opportunity which has been availed.
