Society president, Duncan Mfula says the figure shows a steady growth, which is 11 percent higher than the pre -Covid-19 pandemic exhibitors’ participation numbers.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Mfula said an estimated 20 foreign countries are expected to participate in this year’s event.
He said this development is pleasing as it will enable market the event at an international level.
Mr Mfula has since urged exhibitors to adopt sustainable practices through digitalisation, visual exhibition and to shift from the tradition branding concepts that use a lot of paper.
“I want to announce on behalf of the society that this year’s event will be exciting looking at the number of the exhibitors that will attend. I am glad to mention that over 1, 300 direct and indirect exhibitors will attend the event. We expect 20 foreign countries to participate,” Mr Mfula said.
The 95th agricultural and commercial show will be held from August 2 to 7 2023 under the theme: inclusive economic transformation.
