Investors intending to work in Chief Matipa’s chiefdom must prioritise working with local partners and job creation for the local people.

Speaking when a delegation from the China Asia Economic Development Association paid a courtesy call on him to discuss possible investment in a cassava processing plant, Chief Matipa of the Bisa people said it was important for investors to employ local people and to help develop his chiefdom
The traditional leader said he could not allow investors to bring in expatriates when the locals were able to do the work.
“I want my people to benefit from the investment being brought in the chiefdom. I want to see my people’s welfare change,” Chief Matipa said.
Chief Matipa said he was open to work with investors that would enhance economic activities in his chiefdom.
He said he wants to see to it that the welfare of the people in the area improves.
Meanwhile, the association’s vice president Wang Haipeng said the cassava processing plant will have the capacity to process 100, 000 metric tonnes of cassava for export.
