Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Chipoka Mulenga says the new dawn administration has attracted investment worth over US$8 billion in just 18 months in Government.
Mr Mulenga said the country had recorded 351 investment ventures worth US$8.59 billion in 2022 representing an increase of 157.96 percent in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
He said the new dawn administration would not relent in its quest to promote and attract trade and investment that will benefit Zambians.
Mr Mulenga said President Hakainde Hichilema’s ultimate goal whenever he travelled abroad was to open up more investment opportunities for the benefit of Zambians.
He said the new dawn administration has been very consistent on international trips and that President Hichilema only travelled to attract FDI and other engagements. Mr Mulenga said President Hichilema had been very clear from the onset that Zambians could not share poverty but a good livelihood for all. He said this was the reason why the government only undertook trips that were beneficial to the people.
