Despite having humiliated relegation threatened Nkwazi FC 4-1 to move to second position on the MTN/FAZ Super League table, FC MUZA president Keith Mweemba says he is not happy about the confusion MUZA had to go through to fulfil the week-32 fixture played at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.
Mweemba said it is unfortunate that no one communicated from FAZ on the times MUZA where scheduled to play Nkwazi in a game which was first scheduled for Saturday at 15:00 Hours.
He said MUZA had to get information from the Nkwazi’s facebook page to know that their game was an early kick off scheduled for Sunday.
“We are very happy we have won and I think we have won convincingly against all olds because when we were preparing for this game what we knew is that we were playing at 15 hours at first it was Saturday at 15 hours then ofcours there was communication from FAZ that your game will be on Sunday,” Mweemba Said.
“It had been moved because of SuperSport so we knew that we were playing on Sunday at 1500 hours we didn’t know because no one communicated to us on time the time we were supposed to play but when our coach checked the Nkw3azi facebook page we saw Nkwazi saying the game would be played at 13 hours so we panicked and we were surprised because no one communicated to us that the game had been changed from 15:00 hours to 13:00 hours,” he said.
Mweemba said FAZ should have communicated 48 hours before the game for the team to be mentally prepared.
Mweemba noted that despite the association having rendered an apology, as president of MUZA he was not pleased because this is a crucial period for the league as some teams are fighting relegation while others are fighting for a top two finish.
“It was a bit of a challenge and we are not happy. Personally, as president of the club I’m still not very happy with such arrangements. It is not good to pretend and I don’t like pretending myself but it is not fair. We did not want to complain too much because maybe people would say we are crybabies, we said okay we will play at 13 hours so we have played and we have beaten them 4-1 connivingly and I’m happy,” Mweemba said
“FAZ apologized but we are not very happy because we were preparing and this is a very crucial stage of the season where there are teams fighting relegation some are fighting for top two position of course Power Dynamos are champions now congratulations to them they deserve it they played very well,” he said.
After Sundays win over Nkwazi, MUZA propelled to second with 50 points, 12 points behind champions elect Power Dynamos who defeated Forest Rangers 2-0 on Saturday.
