Former home affairs minister Steven Kampyongo has being driven to Shiwang’andu district in Muchinga Province in the early hours of the morning.
One of his lawyers George Chisanga confirmed the development to the Daily Nation.
He however expressed shock that police had left Chelstone Police Station where Kampyongo was detained, without informing his lawyers as earlier agreed.
Police yesterday recorded a warn and caution statement from Kampyongo for allegedly endangering the safety of an aircraft and it’s passengers that wanted to land in Shiwang’andu during the 2015 election campaign.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the alleged action was contrary to Section 8(f) of CAP 445 Safety of Civil Aviation Act of the laws of Zambia.
