A CARTEL involving Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), some traditional leaders and disgruntled politicians have gone into an alliance with some hostile media organisations to wage a war against Government with the hope of facilitating for regime change, the Zambian DNA has observed.
Zambia DNA spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa yesterday told the Daily Nation that his organisation was worried with the high level of hypocrisy exhibited by some individuals who had taken turns to demonise Government by painting a picture that everything in Zambia was bad to propagate their selfish ambitions.
Mr. Mulemwa said as a result of selfish ambitions, the opposition had failed to provide credible checks and balances and offer alternative solutions to challenges facing the nation because those who were supposed to do so were now preoccupied with fostering regime change either by hook or crook.
He said it had become clear that those who were projecting themselves as the Messiahs of Zambia had their own misguided ambitions and that given a chance to run the affairs of the country, they would auction the country to the highest bidder because their aim was to amass wealth using their influence.
He said it had become no secret that those who pretended to be working closely with President Edgar Lungu had become betrayers because the cartel had spread its tentacles in most of the governance systems in order to “weaken the enemy” using the inner circle.
“The orchestrated agitation for regime change by the cartel has been intensified with unfounded claims of bad governance and corruption allegations levelled against President Lungu, calls for early polls and the current call for impeachment of the President. It is not a secret that those who worked closely with the President have chosen to betray him for the same reasons by making similar unfounded claims of corruption in Government.
“The cartel knows that the only best thing to do to weaken the President is by painting him black in the eyes of reasonable members of society using whatever method because they know that without spreading lies, they will not have a chance to change the mind-set of Zambians because they understand their affairs better,” Mr. Mulemwa said.
He urged President Lungu to remain unshaken and steadfast to such machinations aimed at weighing him down and continue discharging his duties with diligence and ignore his critics who only wanted to create confusion during his reign.
He also appealed to Zambians not to listen to sugar-coated sentiments from disgruntled individuals who were only interested in enriching themselves at the expense of national development as listening to such would be suicidal.
