Dry anger in Zambia
Dear Editor,
It is with great trepidation that I write this contribution.
In recent times our country has drifted into a state of paralysis. Everyone is so angry with everyone else that no one is pausing to listen to the others.
The language has drifted into slander, insults, derogatory and a pure lack of respect for elders and leaders. Sadly it is coming from all quarters including senior Church leaders.
Let us pause, pray and forgive. Enough has been said against each other. It is time to reflect, repent and start afresh. Anything else will just make matters worse and it will be us, Zambians, who will be the biggest losers.
No one is perfect so the finger pointing must stop and let’s refocus.

Behaviour of Bishop Mpundu and Rev Matale Shocking
Dear Editor,
I am shocked at the behaviour of Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu and Rev. Suzanne Matale.
I would like, from the onset to thank and express my pride and admiration for our UCZ synod presbytery hierarchy for distancing our church from the blanket position taken by the above individuals which has the potential to plunge church into unnecessary turmoil.
These politically inclined individuals should not be allowed to split the body of Christ by their insatiable appetite to stay in the limelight.
As for Matale, you caught us unawares at St. Paul, UCZ Church the last time when you took to the pulpit and literally preached advocating for the removal of a sitting in President, forgetting that within the same church were supporters of RB and those of our late President Michael Chilufya Sata.
Who says every member of the clergy is a saint when in Rwanda, the big Catholic Church was behind the genocide at that time.
Kudos to EFZ for distancing itself from these two politically inclined individuals.

Bishop Mpundu should state his political ambitions now
Dear Editor,
I would like to add my voice to the wise people of Zambia who are questioning the sanity of Bishop Mpundu.
If he surely claims to be a man of God after many writings against him and his fellow Bishops contradicting with him then he has a problem.
Let him come to his senses and retract his statements before we align him to UPND.
We will salute him if he apologizes to the nation and Catholic Church for misrepresenting it.
Failure to do so, though he may carry himself as a man of God, will make the nation not to recognize him as well as the heavens.

Good job RB! Dear Editor,
I wish to commend President Banda for being humane, humble and selfless in the manner in which he eulogized his compatriot, the late President, Dr F.J.T.
Chiluba during the sixth commemoration of his passing. I should without any hesitation, state that RB is equally such a huge blessing to this nation.
The words he spoke were not for the gallery but for the enrichment of our “Ubuntu”, national heritage and identity, for the sake of posterity.
It is a fact that FJT’s legacy lives in the ordinary people’s hearts. This is in spite of the seven cruel years in which diabolical and venomous media assault was unleashed on him, without any protection even from the so called “government of laws”, LAZ nor civil society, then.
The man was presumed and pronounced guilty before being declared innocent, by a competent Zambian court of law. Lest we forget, it was RB who described FJT as a very good President.
Those who held the power of the pen immediately unleashed incessant attacks, questioning and assaulting the then President Banda’s character.
The sin he committed was his being forthright, by giving honor to whom it was due.
Those who had thought they would turn FJT into a perpetual villain and Zambia, into a nation without heroes, failed lamentably. They had met their much in RB, who refused to “inherit other people’s enemies.”
Today, those who were maliciously at the fore-front in demonizing FJT, have now been exposed for who they truly are: villains.
They wore a holier than thou cloak, but had stinking skeletons in their wardrobes.
For seven years, FJT was in and out of the court room. Guess what? The fake anti-corruption champions have no guts nor compunction to stand before the face of justice. They say, “The guilty are always afraid.”
May the soul of FJT rest in eternal peace. Long live President Banda and God bless our great nation, Zambia!

State of Lusaka’s Lumumba Road
Dear Editor,
The state of Lumumba Road is one of very serious concern to its users as almost the entire road needs repair.
Take the stretch between Family 24 and the junction of Lumumba/Commonwealth Avenue; it is not only damaging vehicles but accident prone due to constant swerving and diverting by vehicles to avoid hitting the uncountable potholes. Trucks – both tankers and heavy goods vehicles have contributed to the deterioration. The RDA on Sheki-Sheki road know this too well and they have chosen to totally ignore the condition of this road (yet they do pass there unavoidably).
Question is: Who is responsible for repair of this just one vital road? Where is the Tollgate money?Heads should roll on this one.,
