…We shall meet you
By Oscar Malipenga
PATRIOTIC Front (PF) youths are ready to take on National Democratic Party (NDC) secretary-general Mwenya Musenge and his political partners should they decide to bring confusion to Lusaka by holding meetings to insult President Edgar Lungu, Lusaka Province youth chairman Kennedy Kamba has warned.
“If they want to come to Lusaka and fan confusion in Lusaka, the youth of Lusaka, particularly of the Patriotic Front will defend the President, his government and the people of Lusaka,” Mr Kamba has said.
On Saturday, Mr Musenge is expected to launch his political party which will be addressed by former vice president, Dr Guy Scott and Roan Patriotic Front member of Parliament Mr Chishimba Kambwili.
Last weekend, NDC public meeting failed to take place after management at Lusaka Show grounds stopped them from holding their gathering within their premises despite having a police permit.
Now, Mr Musenge has been asked to notify Lusaka police command again if they have to shift their meeting to this weekend.
But PF Lusaka youth chairman (Kamba) has warned conveners of the public meeting to be peaceful and conduct themselves within the provisions of the law.
“We are not going to allow them to insult the President and intimidate the people of Lusaka,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Kamba said PF structures were intact in Lusaka, adding that the developmental agenda of President Lungu’s administration was there for everyone to see.
He said the people of Lusaka know what President Lungu’s government was doing in terms of development.
“If they feel they are going to entice them with money let them go ahead but people of Zambia know what this government is up to, they know what this government is doing.
“..and if they want to come into Lusaka to destabilise peace we are going to defend ourselves because we are in charge of Lusaka, we have the largest number of youths.
“So those people who are following them are doing don’t kubeba, what happened to his political careers is very unfortunate to even talk about, we were telling them not to go to the opposition but they thought they were millionaires and would be dishing out money,” Mr Kamba .
He said Zambians were not interested in politics of dishing out money but wanted clean drinking water and good roads in places like Misis and Kanyama compounds.
He said Zambians wanted to see that the price of mealie meal was reduced to an affordable price
