REAL dictatorship is in the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) where members are expelled for merely calling for a convention, says Save FDD Committee spokesperson Yotam Mtayachalo.
And Mr Mtayachalo said that leader Edith Nawakwi and spokesperson Antonio Mwanza were full of hypocrisy for insinuating that the current Government was a dictatorship.
He said in an interview with the Daily Nation that Ms Nawakwi was in hiding but issuing statements through Mr Mwanza.
Mr Mtayachalo observed that Mr Mwanza had on a number of times labelled the current Government on social media as a dictatorship.
He charged that if anything, real dictatorship was in the FDD where members were being expelled from the party for merely calling for a convention.
Mr Mtayachalo reiterated Ms Nawakwi had no moral right to comment on national issues and that she had become politically irrelevant.
“Who is Antonio to label the current Government as a dictatorship, it is his boss who is speaking through him but why is she in hiding?
“ Let her come out if she feels she is a leader. Real dictatorship is in the FDD where members are expelled from the party for merely calling for a convention” he said.
Mr Mtayachalo said that it was absurd for anyone to say that Zambia had turned into a dictatorship when there was peace in the country.
He pointed out that the only place where people were not free was in the FDD because members were being silenced with threats of expulsion.
Meanwhile, Mr Mtayachalo wondered which capacity Mr Mwanza had been issuing statements because he was no longer the party spokesperson as far as the court order was still in effect.
He explained that the judgement for matters of the party to be handled by the trustees, pending arbitration, had not been stayed.
“These are the characters who do not respect court decisions, in what capacity is Antonio issuing those statements” he questioned.
