By NATION REPORTER FIRST Quantum Minerals (FQM) has revised downwards its copper output for this year by 3.5 percent at the midpoint, citing Zambian mine sequencing, while having challenges with politics at its Cobre Panama project where production has halted. The mining giant now says it expects production of 380,000 to 440,000 tonnes copper this year, down from earlier estimates of 400,000 to 450,000 tonnes.
