By BARNABAS ZULU INFORMATION has emerged that Zambia National Women’s Team coach, Bruce Mwape, has been sacked and replaced with outgoing Ghana National Women’s Team coach, Nora Häuptle. According to several websites in Ghana, Häuptle has been offered a two-year contract to take over as head coach of the Copper Queens. Ghanasoccernet.com reports that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has secured the services of Häuptle, who guided the Ghanaian women’s team, the Black Queens, to qualify for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and secure the 2023 WAFU Zone B Women’s Cup. Mwape, who remains the only coach to successfully lead the Copper Queens to major international tournaments, has achieved significant milestones with the team.
