ECL’s plan b proving successful – Zumani

By BARNABAS ZULU POLITICAL scientist, Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba has argued that former President Edgar Lungu’s “Plan B” is proving successful, citing the recent Kawambwa by-election as evidence. While the UPND’s candidate, Nason Musonda, won with 5,011 votes (44 percent), Dr. Zumani believes the performance of the Tonse Alliance, under Mr Lungu’s leadership, is a significant achievement for the coalition. Dr. Zumani, who served as Mr Lungu’s political advisor, said, “It is clear that the main winner in Kawambwa is ECL and Tonse Alliance, despite the ruling party candidate being declared the winner.”  He emphasised that for a newly-formed coalition like the Tonse Alliance to secure 35 percent of the vote in a race against a well-established, heavily-funded UPND was CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
