Kafue Gorge unit one fires up month-end

By SILUMESI MALUMOTHE commissioning of the first unit at Kafue Gorge Lower is scheduled before the end of this month, Zesco Senior Corporate Affairs Manager John Kunda has said.Dr Kunda said in an interview yesterday that the timeline for the commissioning had not been changed and that currently, the dam had already been filled up.He added that synchronisation and reliability tests were on-going.“So the technical commissioning of the first unit is set for the period before the end of December. Should anything change we will keep the public informed,” he said.Dr Kunda said all the conditions would continue to be monitored and the general public would be advised.
