The Rapid raise in population and increased economic growth models are some of the factors that have led to increased generation of solid waste. To this effect, ShopRite Zambia and the E.U Africa Rise under the Khusanka project are working towards transforming the status quo through a program dubbed “Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)” This program is targeting improving waste management systems in office buildings, learning institutions as well as households in Lusaka. ShopRite is leading the way in funding the disposal of waste management.
