By BUUMBA CHIMBULU A PACT to promote and facilitating a conducive business environment for the private sector has been entered into between Government and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, and the USAID Business Enabling Project in Lusaka during the week. The ministry’s Permanent Secretary for Investment and Industrialisation, Mr Crusivia Hichikumba explained that the agreement was a testament to the shared commitment to creating an ecosystem where businesses could thrive. Mr Hichikumba, speaking at the signing ceremony, noted that this was also aimed at creating an environment for businesses to innovate, and contribute to the nation’s economic development. “As you may be aware, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry is charged with the responsibility for formulating and implementing policies aimed at creating a conducive business environment for private sector growth,” he said.
