By STEPHEN MWEWASOME traditional leaders have called on people to turn up in large numbers and register as voter in the on-going registration exercise.According to them, it is time to end voter apathy, which was evident in the 2016 general elections.Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba, said people should exercise their democratic rights by participating in the electoral process starting with registering.He said apathy was a setback in the country’s pursuit to entrench democratic values in the political dispensation.The paramount chief was speaking on behalf of other traditional leaders at Kasama College of Education during the launch of the Move-ment Voter Sensitisation (MVS) in Northern Province, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).He said Zambians must turn up in large numbers and register as voters so that they could exercise their democratic right next year.Paramount Chief Chitimukulu noted that a large turn out during polls would guarantee a representative outcome.The event was attended by Senior Chief Chikanta of […]
