BY SIMON MUNTEMBAA 52-YEAR-OLD woman in Mufumbwe has died after being struck by lightning inside her house.Zambia Police spokesperson, Esther Katongo has identified the victim as Ms Monica Muswenyesa of Likulau Village, Chief Chizela.Ms Katongo told the Daily Nation that Ms Muswenyesa was struck on Monday around 23:00 hours.She said the body of the victim was deposited in Mufumbwe District Hospital mortuary awaiting burial.In a related development, a five-year-old girl died after being struck by lightning in Kazungula in Chief Sekute’s area.Ms Katongo identified the victim as Mizezo Siamukoma, while her father Robert Siamakoma aged 56 and her mother identi-fied as Emmelda Mulinda aged 37 survived with injuries.Meanwhile, Ms Katongo said two people sustained serious injuries while six others had minor injuries after a road traffic acci-dent which occurred on Tuesday at Orex Filling Station in Mazabuka along the Great North Road.She said a Foton truck registration number BAL 7804 and trailer ALG 5348T careered […]
