By SANFROSSA MANYINDATHE Road Development Agency (RDA) has called for a close cooperation with the Kitwe City Council to stop the encroachment of road reserves.According to the RDA, there was need to immediately protect road reserves from encroachments before the problem could get out of hand.Zambia has 67, 671 km of classified road network, covering the country relatively well, geographically.The classified road network comprises 3, 116 km of trunk roads, 3, 701 km of main roads, 13, 707 km of district roads and 5, 597 km urban roads.Others are 14,333 km of primary feeder roads, about 15,000 km of secondary feeder roads, 6, 607 km of park roads and 5, 000 km of community roads.RDA Director of Communications and Cooperate Affairs, Masuzyo Ndhlovu, said in Kitwe that road reserves were important because they provided room for the future expansion such as the construction of dual carriageways.Mr Ndhlovu said road reserves were also used for the […]
