By NATION REPORTER Ex-Anglo-American Corporation employees have appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema to hear their cries and help them get their retirement benefits as they have gone for over 10 years without pay.Mr Michael Daka, who represented the ex-employees indicated that despite giving a service to the nation for many years, their employers decided not pay them their retirement benefits.Mr Daka said the ex-workers retired in 2011 but have until now not been considered to be given their benefits, hence having been reduced to destitution.He said it was shocking that even after using other avenues to get the benefits, their efforts have proved futile. Mr Daka appealed to President Hichilema to intervene so that the ex-employees could be able access their hard-earned benefits.He said President Hichilema should take their matter seriously because ex-workers were going through economic hardship because of the failure to access the benefits, which would have helped them to improve their livelihood.
