By NOEL IYOMBWA in Kafue GorgeGOVERNMENT has learnt that the paint that caught fire of Kafue Gorge Lower Hydro Power Station is more flammable than other ordinary paints because it is used as sealant to avoid leaking of water.Project manager Wesley Lwiindi however said there was no available information on the paint prior to the accident.Mr Lwiindi said this when Energy Minister, Matthew Nkhuwa toured part of the gutted area yesterday.Mr Nkhuwa assured that the fire would not affect its commissioning next month.He said that the nation had been fed with conflicting stories over the flash fire at the plant under construction.Mr Nkhuwa said contrary to reports in some section of the media that the entire plant was gutted, only part of the building was affected.“The project will go on as scheduled and the accident was just an unfortunate incident and we hope that management will be more careful next time,” he said.Zesco acting managing […]
