THE K65 million that was seized from Faith Musonda by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) may never have been deposited into Control 99 at the Bank of Zambia for had it been, Government would never have hesitated to pro
duce evidence of the paper trail, Mutotwe Kafwaya has said. Mr Kafwaya, the Patriotic Front (PF) Lunte Member of Parliament says for a government that has been pontificating prudence, transparency and accountability, it would never have hesitated to cause the production of the deposit certificate for the K65 million reported to have been misap
propriated. Mr Kafwaya, who is also a PF presidential candidate said the Ministry of Finance and National
Planning could have produced a payment voucher to the Ministry of Education which would have
been accompanied by a bank statement showing a trail of the movement of the K65 million. He
said the Ministry of Education would have produced similar documentation to the Higher Edu
cation Loans and Scholarship Board (HELSB) for eventual disbursement to students and that a list of the beneficiaries would have been published.
