By GRACE CHAILEThe Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has submitted to the Lusaka High Court, that Choma based Chief Resource Management officer, is not entitled to his claim of K700,000 as he was not maliciously prosecuted.[ihc-hide-content ihc_mb_type=”show” ihc_mb_who=”4,5,6″ ihc_mb_template=”2″ ]This is a matter in which Mr Daggoh Chitendwe , sued ACC alleging that he was mistakenly identified, which caused him to be prosecuted over an offence he did not commit.Mr Chitendwe wants the Commission to pay him damages for malicious prosecution and special damages amounting to K776,000.He stated that on or around October 4 2019 , the Zambia Police arrested him , then as Chief Resources Management officer at provincial administration in Choma.He stated that he appeared before the Choma Magistrate court but was acquitted at the no case to answer stage.ACC has however submitted that that the investigations were properly and thoroughly conducted revealing a probable cause against him.“The matter was duly investigated and prosecuted and […]
