Minister of Mines and Mineral Development Paul Kabuswe has said, government will ensure that challenges Konkola Copper Mine (KCM) is facing are resolved.Mr. Kabuswe said, government is however consulting mine unions and other stakeholders on the decision it has made in order to find a lasting solution that will satisfy employers, employees.He said, the nation will soon be informed about the decision on the mine once consultations with unions are concluded.[ihc-hide-content ihc_mb_type=”show” ihc_mb_who=”4,5,6″ ihc_mb_template=”2″ ]The minister said, people should be patient as the current challenges at KCM will soon be over.“Government is aware that the mines are an important factor to families in Chililabombwe because they provide employment and resources to sustain families,” he said.Mr. Kabuswe said, there is no way a government whose vision is to improve people’s lives can allow the mine to continue facing challenges which has reduced production.Mr Kabuswe said, government is not happy with what is happening at the mine, […]
