By NATION REPORTERTHE Zambian Government is determined to combat climate change by putting in place mitigation policies that will support green economy, President Hakainde Hichilema has said.Mr Hichilema speaking at the ongoing COP 27 summit in Egypt yesterday said that government had an obligation to deliver for the future generations to ensure that the climate was well looked after by all the stakeholders involved.He said countries needed to unite and work out a template that would help meliorate the negative impacts of climate change. Mr Hichilema said that Africa contributed the least in terms of damage of the climate but was one of the hardest hit.“There was need for strong partnership among member countries to ensure that the fight against climate change is won,” President Hichilema said.He said Zambia had submitted an ambitious contribution to fight the impacts of climate change globally.Mr Hichilema said that Zambia would continue playing its part despite the financial constraints.
