Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu has bemoaned the poor state of sports infrastructure across the country.Nkandu says the state of sports infrastructure in the country is worrying and that there is need to invest in sports infrastructure if sports is to improve in the country.ZANIS reports that the sports Minister said this when he handed over the renovations and upgrading works of Kaole Stadium to Portend Mining Limited in Mansa yesterday.Nkandu commended FIFA for funding the improvement of stadia across the country.“Sports infrastructure in the country is in a dilapidated state, there is need to invest more in sports infrastructure and the move by FIFA is commendable,” Nkandu observed.The Minister has since told the constructor to do quality works as government will not tolerate any shoddy works.And Luapula Province Minister Derrick Chilundika has called on the contractor to employee local people as one way of imparting a sense of ownership of the project.Earlier Football Association of […]
