By SANFROSSA MANYINDAGOVERNMENT has signed a US$ 4.7 million through the support from Japan among other partners to fully equip the Kitwe Vocational Training Centre.According to the Ministry of Technology and Science, the financing is meant to fully equip the college so that the levels of skills are elevated.Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati said that skills development was one of the new dawn government’s major delivables.Mr Mutati said this would lift the spirits and support future employees and entrepreneurs.He also said that using the skills development funds, government was putting in K 900, 000 to rehabilitate the hostels at the institution.“We will see to it that students acquire the best skills to work on heavy duty mining equipment, underground equipment in the mining and construction sectors.“Our aims is also to recruit about 500 youths regardless of their academic qualifications but ability, so that they can be equipped with many skills,” he said.The minister […]
