By AARON CHIYANZOTHE planned power restrictions to Konkola Copper Mine (KCM) by Zesco have been averted as the talks with the power utility company have been fruitful, KCM liquidator Milingo Lungu has said.Mr Lungu said KCM had been asked to submit a plan indicating how it would dismantle the over US$170 million debt to Zesco.Zesco recently announced that it would start restricting power to KCM because of the increased debt but KCM immediately engaged the power utility firm over the natter.Mr Lungu said in an interview that the giant mining company was working on a viable payment plan which it would soon submit to Zesco.He expressed confidence that a positive outcome would be reached as the engagements so far were fruitful.“The talks with Zesco so far are fruitful and they have asked us to submit a plan on how we are going to liquidate the debt.After that we will wait to see if they will […]
