By ANDREW MUKOMAMEMBERS of the seized Comsave Credit Union and ONO Savings and Credit Association in Livingstone have pleaded with the new dawn government to take keen interest in the matter concerning their monies from the two embattled financial institutions.The members have complained that since the UPND government took over the leadership of the nation, the matter has gone quiet, much to their displeasure.Some members have told the Daily Nation that Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane, Bank of Zambia, Drug Enforcement Commission and National Prosecution Authority (NPA) should quickly review the modalities in which the two institutions were guided to pay back the beneficiaries of the schemes.Earlier this year, government through the Bank of Zambia, seized Comsave and Ono accounts in Livingstone and Mazabuka for flouting the financial laws .After reaching an agreement with government, the two institutions were told to pay back to members who had invested in the village banking scheme but some members […]
