Being without a job for any reason affects many people’s lives in many ways. Despite being a welcome move, the bold decision by President Hakainde Hichilema to bring to an halt the trend of political cadres collecting revenue in markets and bus stations has without doubt contributed to the increase of crime in Lusaka. The cadres’ lives have been economically affected, hence some of them resorting to criminal activities to make ends meet.These factors are some of the causes of the increasing crime rate in Lusaka. To bring back law and order in society, all citizens as stakeholders have roles to play because it starts at household level all the way up to Government.
