By KETRA KALUNGAPRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema and the new dawn administration are more than ready to improve the economy of Kabwe by revamping the Zambia China Mulungushi Textiles Joint Venture, says Defence Minister, Ambrose Lufuma.Mr. Lufuma said the UPND leadership is eager to see the sleeping giant awaken and create both direct and indirect jobs for the people in the district and surrounding areas.He said once operational, possibly next year, the venture would raise the living standards of the people in the district by reducing poverty levels.Mr. Lufuma said Mulungushi Textiles is a very big venture which has been dormant for a long time, denying jobs to the people in the district especially the youth.“The new dawn government is taking serious steps to revamp the firm because it has potential to revive the economic activities in Kabwe,” he said.He was speaking in Kabwe yesterday when he flagged off the distribution of cotton seed for the Zambia […]
