SUNDA PLEDGES $10M INVESTMENTBy BUUMBA CHIMBULUAN additional investment of US$10 million has been pledged by Sunda Industrial Zambia company over the next four years to expand its diaper factory located in the Lusaka South Multi Facility Economic Zone (LS-MFEZ).This investment will create an additional 150 job opportunities for local Zambians and 10 expatriate positions who will facilitate skills and knowledge transfer to the local team members.This is according to the LS-MFEZ Manager Corporate Affairs, Alice Schultz.“This expansion is expected to accommodate the production of an additional line of sanitary pads and also upscale the production of diapers.“Sunda is the designated manufacture of Softcare Diapers currently producing 4000 bales of diapers daily all of which are being consumed locally,” Ms Schultz said in a statement.She stated that the expansion would catalyse a need for increased supply of electricity from the current 500 KVA to 1500 KVA upon the implementation of the expansion project.The LS-MFEZ, she said, […]
