By ANDREW MUKOMATHE construction of a modern water abstraction point targeting 1, 500 new connections and supply of water metres at the Western Water and Sanitation Company (WWSC) in Sesheke has reached 45 per cent.Sesheke District Company Manager Mukela Subulwa says the project is aimed at reducing breakdowns during operation hours and the supply of water and sanitation improvement in the district.Mr Subulwa disclosed that, the project is a government project with financial support from the African Development Bank (ADB) awarded to China Railways Construction Engineering group company limited.He said that the putting up of the modern water abstraction point at the Zambezi river will accommodate two pumps running and one on standby.Mr Subulwa also disclosed that the construction of a modern treatment plant which will accommodate vital treatment processes like coagulation, flocculation, segmentation and chemical treatment is under way.He said alongside the project is the rehabilitation of the two old elevated tanks and construction […]
