GOVERNMENT has sourced land for the construction of a Freedom Fighters’ Cenotaph in Solwezi.Solwezi District Commissioner, Rosemary Kamalonga, said Government was equal to the task of distributing infrastructure development across the country and the province was not an exception.Ms Kamalonga said once the construction of the Cenotaph was complete, the freedom fighters would be celebrated and remembered in a meaningful way, during the annual Africa Freedom Day. She was speaking during the interaction meeting with the freedom fighters from both the district and provincial committees in Solwezi yesterday.Ms Kamalonga said the commemoration of the Africa Freedom Day did not take place due to lack of a Cenotaph in Solwezi district as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.“Government under the able leadership of President Edgar Lungu through the Provincial Administration has now found the place where the construction of a cenotaph will take place and next year the commemorations will take place,” she added.Ms Kamalonga further made […]
