By MULENGA MUSONDAThe Choma Magistrates Court has granted K500 cash bail to a 34 years old Businessman accused of stealing K700.In this matter Eugene Caristo Mudenda appeared before Court charged with one count of Theft Contrary to the Laws of Zambia.Allegations are that Mudenda, jointly and whilst acting with others unknown, stole K700 cash from the property of Kenneth Mukuwa.The alleged incident is said to have occurred on April 27, 2021 in Choma district of Southern Province.When he was called to take plea before Senior Resident Magistrate Peter Mungala by the state, Mudenda strongly distanced himself from the allegations compelling the court to enter a plea of not guilty.Mudenda went on to apply for bail which the State did not object and he was granted K500 cash bail with two working sureties bound in the like sum and in their own recognisance.The matter was adjourned to May 24 for commencement of trial.
