By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSATHE Inter-Africa Governance Network (AFRINET) has urged stakeholders to restrain against commencing any court action in relation to President Edgar Lungu’s eligibility for 2021 elections as doing so is not only duplicity of the court process but also abuse.AFRINET said the stakeholders should accept the Constitutional Court ruling over the matter because it has pronounced itself on two separate occasions which is in 2018 in the matter between Dr Danny Pule and others vs the Attorney General and also last Wednesday’s ruling in the case of Bampi Kapalasa and another vs Attorney General.In a comprehensive statement, AFRINET executive director Maurice Malambo said it was time the issue of President Lungu’s eligibility came to a close and stakeholders shifted attention to politics of purpose and civility in the forthcoming General Election.“The debate whether President Edgar Lungu qualifies or not to contest the 2021 General Election has on two separate occasions been correctly pronounced […]
