We Catholics and other Christian denominations will be conducting every Friday what we call “ the way of the Cross prayers” during which we remember the agony and suffering Jesus Christ went through on his way to Calvary, on our behalf. Prophet Isaiah puts it so clearly in 53: 4-6 and he says: “Surely, he has borne our grief and carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed Him stricken. Smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him. And by His stripes we are healed. All we, like sheep have gone astray.
