In a statement, newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Dora Siliya said it was sad that some journalists were misconstruing the statement made by President Edgar Lungu that “ubomba mwibala alya mwibala,” by suggesting that he was encouraging theft by public servants when in fact not. Ms Siliya said the President was cautioning public workers against corruption and emphasized the need for all public servants to be above board when performing their various functions. “President Lungu swore to defend the Zambian Constitution whose laws prohibit theft by public servants.
