Mr Changwe said the use of Bemba by pupils in grades one to four had yielded a lot of positive results in the district. In an Interview with the Daily Nation, Mr. Changwe noted that most of the children in the lower grades found it hard to express themselves in English. “English is a foreign language, hence, most of the children in the early grades of one to four found it hard to express themselves well. “We discovered that the children were shy to speak up in classes which demotivated them from wanting to learn due to the fear of making mistakes and being mocked by their fellow pupils which led to some of them absconding classes,” he said.
