Tue, 13 Feb 2018 09:57:07 +0000 By JUSTINA MULENGA A 23-year-old woman of Garden compound in Lusaka yesterday appeared before Lusaka Magistrate, Kenneth Mulife, for murder contrary to the laws of Zambia. This is a case in which Juliet Phiri is alleged to have murdered Mathews Nasilele on January 17th 2018 in Lusaka. When the matter came up for mention, the accused could not take plea as the offence she is facing can only be tried by the High Court. The accused who understood the charged is remanded in custody and will appear on February 27th 2018 for another mention until instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) are issued for her committal to the High Court. Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man of Chainda compound in Lusaka has been dragged to court for murder.
