Sun, 04 Feb 2018 10:43:14 +0000 By KALOBWE BWALYA CHIEF Mabumba of the Ushi people in Mansa District of Luapula Province has asked Government through the ministry of Community Development and Social Warfare to counter-check people benefiting from the social cash transfer scheme following reports of malpractice. Chief Mabumba has also warned that the Ushi chiefdom will not be in support of any person found wanting in this case because such acts were criminal and meant to frustrate Government efforts in fighting poverty. The Chief said it was not in order that some people were now manipulating the exercise by taking advantage of the vulnerable people in society and he will not allow such a scourge to continue. The traditional leader said manipulators should be removed if the programme was to yield fruits because desperate people were being charged money to be put on the recipient list.
